Audi Launches R8 Sports Car in Australia

Audi Australia has launched its long-awaited R8 sports coupe in Australia.

Following in the footsteps of Audi’s highly-successful rally cars and history-making Le Mans Prototype LMP R8 race car, the company has now launched a road-going version of the same name, with the genes of a winner.

The name R8 is now synonymous with superior performance, unswerving reliability and the intelligent use of power. The sporty genes of its forebears are even highlighted in the way the R8 cuts its way through the air. The same design team that had previously styled the R8 racing car was given the task of styling the R8 roadgoing sports car.

Audi Introduces World’s Most Powerful Diesel In Australia

Audi Australia has confirmed the company will introduce the most powerful diesel SUV in the world. The Audi Q7 4.2 TDI V8 will hit Australian showrooms by the end of 2007, unleashing 240 kW and 760 Nm of torque.

Arriving ahead of their official Australian launch date, two Audi Q7 4.2 TDI models were flown to Australia to take part in the company’s across-Australia ‘Trans-Continental Crossing’ event which ran from 30 August to 24 September.

Saab Launches Australia’s First Ethanol Car

A global leader in renewable fuels, Saab is launching Australia’s first ethanol production car at the Australian International Motor Show today.

Called Saab BioPower, it is a flex-fuel ethanol powered version of the Saab 9-5 vehicle, which can run on E85 (a mix of 85 per cent ethanol and 15 per cent petrol) or petrol, in any combination, from the one fuel tank.

Honda’s CR-V Notches Up Ten Years And 100,000 Sales In Australia

Next Generation Sports-Hybrid Concept Headlines Honda’s Tokyo Motor Show Stand

Honda Motor Co has released details of the production and concept motor vehicles and technologies to be exhibited at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show from October 27 to November 11, 2007.

The theme for Honda’s motor vehicle booth for this year is: “For the endless joy of mobility on our earth”. Based on this theme, Honda will display a variety of advanced environmental technologies that address environmental issues such as a reduction in CO2 emissions, together with the fun of mobility.

Two concept models will make their world premiere at the motor show.
